Students of SK Temong wins animated film award in Brazil will receive incentive

TEBEDU: Sarawak government will provide incentives to both of five year students of Temong Primary School (Sekolah Kebangsaan Temong) that succeed wins award 'Best Film By Popular Jury' in Festival de Cinema Escola de Alvorada (Fecea) or Alvorada's International Film Festival Of Schools recently, said Education Minister, Science and Research Technology State (Menteri Pendidikan, Sains dan Penyelidikan Teknologi negeri), Datuk Amar Michael Manyin Jawong.
Manyin said the offering incentives is as reward on their
excellent achievement and he will meet that both students personally to wish congratulation
and increase the number of incentives.
"Award that both students won at international level
certainly make us proud," said Manyin after officiating St Paul's Church (Gereja
St Paul) upgrading work completion in Kampung Tema Saan yesterday.
Sawet Macgres and Nabiatul Dania Zulfiqa grabs the award for
their short animation film in primary school category through entitled 'Bijanjii Stone' which means agreement stone
in Bidayuh Bisadung’s dialect.
Manyin, who is also the Tebedu State Assemblyman (Ahli Dewan
Undangan Negeri Tebedu), said SK Temong is one of the largest primary schools in
the area and has about 200 students.
He said two years ago, the school
also won an award at the state level in a competition organized by his
ministry.
"They (SK Temong) have done a
very good job and achieved such excellent success," he said.
Manyin said there were also plans to
upgrade the school building by adding another
block.
Commenting on the upgrading work of the 50-year-old St Paul’s Church (Gereja St Paul), he said it was done in four phases which started last year and was completed recently at a cost of over RM200,000.
